A modified integrated dual output synchronous buck converter is proposed to improve the efficiency and battery utilization and fulfill the auxiliary power supply requirement of electric vehicles. The converter has Multiple outputs controlled independently with reduced switching components compared to conventional separate buck converters as well as conventional synchronous buck converter. The operating principle and working of the proposed converter are studied and explained in detail for better understanding. The performance analysis shows that the converter's efficiency can be improved by zero-voltage-switching operation due to lower conduction and switching losses. As the dynamic behavior of the converter is similar to the conventional buck converter, a simple controller is designed and implemented in this work. The converter is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink. A laboratory prototype is developed to verify and demonstrate its advantages experimentally. © 2021 IEEE.
