Upconversion studies in Gd2O3:Tm3+/Yb 3+ phosphor

dc.description.abstractThe Tm3+/Yb3+ doped Gd2O3 phosphor is prepared through combustion technique and its visible upconversion emission studies are made on 980 nm near infrared excitation. The upconversion studied showed good upconversion emission in blue region (477nm) but the highest emission intensity was observed at 802 nm wavelength. The Tm3+ ion concentration dependence of upconversion emission intensity studies are also done and optimum concentration of Tm3+ ion is found 0.2mol% for blue upconversion. The power dependence studies are also made to know the process of upconversion emission. © 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.
