Effect of uniaxial cyclic compression on the mechanical behaviour of rocks

Abstract

This paper mainly deals with the mechanical behaviour of Chunar sandstone under cyclic loading. Compressive strength decreases as the number of cycles increases from 90.62% at 100 cycles to 65.50% at 600 cycles. Results indicate that rocks are significantly weakened by cyclic loading. -Authors
