| dc.description.abstract | This paper introduces a single-stage On-board charger capable of multi-mode grid-to-vehicle (G2V), vehicle-to-grid (V2G), and traction operations. The proposed single-stage converter functions as an isolated bidirectional AC-to-DC converter during charging mode, eliminating the need for an intermediate electrolytic capacitor, and operates as a voltage source inverter (VSI) during traction operation. This re-utilizes existing components, making them adaptable to various multimode operations through the use of power relays. A laboratory-scale prototype of 650 W is developed to verify the operation of the proposed converter. Further, the G2V and V2G operations are verified using triangular modulation (TRM) that offers power factor correction (PFC) and soft-switching over the whole range of line frequency. © 2024 IEEE. | |
