| dc.description.abstract | The symbiotic relationship between microbial life and the environment has become a focal point in the pursuit of sustainable solutions for pressing global challenges. In order to sustain the demands of the rapidly expanding population, the use of chemical in the form of pesticides and fertilizers have has drastically increased. Uncontrolled use of these chemicals has detrimental effect on soil health. To reconcile agricultural productivity with environmental preservation, the strategic utilization of beneficial microorganisms emerges as a promising avenue. The forefront of biopesticide innovation emphasizes the strategic use of beneficial microorganisms for sustainable pest management while minimizing environmental impact. Simultaneously, the progression of biofertilizers unveils the symbiotic relationships between microbes and plants that optimize nutrient acquisition and contribute to agricultural sustainability by reducing reliance on chemical inputs. Biopesticides and biofertilizers not only enhance soil health but also increase productivity. Additionally, microbes play a crucial role in the restoration of contaminated terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024. | |
