dc.description.abstractWe study the optical fiber of an annular cross-section with two conducting helical windings on the two interfaces between the annular guiding region and the inner and outer cladding regions. Using suitable boundary conditions, the field components are determined for different regions and thus an eighth order determinantal equation is obtained. The characteristic equation along with cutoff condition of the proposed waveguide is obtained.
