CE- 204:Introduction to Concrete Technology

Abstract

The laboratory course CE-204 Concrete Technology outlines the practical knowledge about various buildings materials such as aggregate, cement, concrete, etc. students will learn about determining physical and mechanical properties of these building materials by performing simple yet complex laboratory tests following Indian standards and guidelines. In this course, student will learn to operate sophisticated lab equipment’s and analyse recorded data to determine the physical and mechanical properties. This course is comprised of followings experiments. Properties of Cement : 1.a) Normal consistency b) Initial setting time c) Soundness 2.(a) Fineness of Cement (b) Strength of cement 3. Specific gravity and unit weight of cement Properties of aggregate 4. F.M. of coarse and Fine aggregate Properties of concrete: 5. (a) Slump test 6. (b) Compaction factor test 7. (c) Compression test 8. (d) Effect of W/C on strength of concrete
