| dc.description.abstract | This paper reviews the numerical distance relaying algorithms proposed by different authors for the protection of power transmission lines and compares them as to their speed, accuracy, frequency response, computational burden and the capability to distinguish among the different types of fault. The mathematical basis of each algorithm is described. All the algorithms are capable of extracting the fundamental frequency component from the complex post fault voltage and current signals. | |
