| dc.description.abstract | Molybdenum and tungsten complexes of the type M2O 4L2(H1O)T [where M = Mov, WV, LH = 1-phenyl-2,5-dithiohydrazodicarbonamide (PTHCH), 1-p-methylphenyl-2,5- dithiohydrazodicarbonamide (MeOPTHCH),1-p-methoxyphenyl-2,5- dithiohydrazodicarbonamide (MePTHCH), 1-p-chlorophenyl-2,5- dithiohydrazodicarbonamide (CIPTHCH)] have been synthesized. The complexes are non-ionic and diamagnetic in nature. Although the complexes are ESR inactive, +5 oxidation state of the metal ions in octahedral geometry has been suggested. IR and electronic spectral studies indicate dinuclear-type of complexes with M1O42+ moiety. Monoanionic hidentate mode of bonding for all the ligands is suggested. X-Ray powder diffraction of the complexes exhibits amorphous nature of the complexes. | |
