Analysis of varactor tuned FET loaded microstrip patch antenna

dc.description.abstractA theoretical analysis of varactor tuned FET loaded microstrip antenna is proposed. The analysis is based on the modal expansion cavity model and circuit theory approach. The active patch antenna shows a marked improvement in tuning range, bandwidth and beamwidth. The proposed method predicts a tunable frequency band of 2.487 GHz resulting into a bandwidth of 35.53%, which is higher than the earlier reported data.
