| dc.description.abstract | A great deal of effort in recent years has gone into the development of spectroscopic techniques to probe the physical parameters of the solar atmosphere. In this review, we discuss the spectroscopic diagnostics in the UV and EUV wavelength regions to study solar plasma, the atomic processes involved, the recent observations made from space and a wealth of EUV observations with excellent spatial, spectral and temporal resolution obtainable from the Coronal Diagnostic Spectrometer (CDS) and the Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation (SUMER) instruments flown on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) satellite. | |
