Abstract
This paper deals with a brief development of an optimized graphene-based metasurface for wideband polarization conversion from incident linearly polarized wave to circularly polarized wave in the lower mid-infrared region. The introduction of specifically designed graphene patterns on the two complementary sides of a silicon dioxide (SiO2) substrate provides circular polarization conversion (CPC) between 5 THz and 9 THz. The Stokes parameters have been calculated for the validation of the output circularly polarized (CP) wave. The proposed device is designed in the sub-wavelength region with a thickness of around λ/6.12 and periodicity of λ/5.71. © 2020 Indian Radio Science Society.
