| dc.description.abstract | We report an interesting carbon material MD-bf-G (methanol derived brightly fluorescent graphene) synthesized using low-priced methanol and sodium hydroxide. MD-bf-G emits red and white light when subjected to infrared laser pulses at 976 nm and 1064 nm respectively. The MD-bf-G offers a low cost imaging probe for various biomedical applications. © 2011 The Royal Society of Chemistry. | |
