Transdermal delivery of drugs by phonophoresis. A review

Abstract

The movement of drugs through skin into soft tissue under the influence of ultrasonic perturbation (phonophoresis) is discussed. Applications of the method as a means of transdermal drug delivery are reviewed, and future possibilities are indicated.
