Hydrogen Production Technologies from Renewable Sources
Abstract
Fossil fuels are utilized as the primary source for the production of energy, which results in the emission of greenhouse gases creating environmental pollution. Recently, H2 has emerged as a promising substitute for fossil fuels leading to the zero-greenhouse emission. Although H2 is generated from both non-renewable and renewable resources, the generation of pure H2 from renewable sources has been observed to be eco-friendly, clean, economic, and beneficial. This chapter describes various technologies employed for the production of H2 from various renewable resources. Moreover, the importance of H2 for the fulfillment of global energy demand has also been explained. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
