| dc.description.abstract | Supramolecular assembly is created with single strand DNA and chloroauric acid in aqueous phase using well known concept-isoelectric point. Further, polyindole is formed chemically by oxidation of indole using this assembly. Using combination of measurements we find that the resulting polyindole is coated over DNA strands along with gold nanoparticles and having ground nutshell (diameter ∼20 nm) morphology. The effect of DNA on the electronic property of polyindole is studied by fabricating Schottky junctions with Al metal. It shows substantially better barrier height (2.3 eV) and ideality factor (1.2), in comparison to pure polyindole or any other conducting polymer studied earlier. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
