Sintering of two glasses (i) CaO 23.0%, Al2O3 15.0% and SiO2 62.0% and (ii) CaO 52.0%, Al2O3 41.5% and SiO2 6.5% with eutectic temperatures 1170° and 1335°C respectively has been carried out at 700°, 800°, 850° and 900°C. Effect of temperature and composition on the viscosity of glasses has been studied. Variations in viscosity with rise in temperature were different for the two glasses. Although the eutectic temperature or the former glass is lower. it gave higher viscosity values at the sintering temperatures. © 1981 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
