| dc.description.abstract | An analytical method for evaluating the illumination correlation function is presented for an aperture illumination distribution of Gaussian type. The Chebyshev series for the Gaussian function exp (— Kx2) has been obtained and applied in the subsequent analysis. Using the analytically derived value of the illumination correlation function, the resulting integral of the power pattern in the far-field region and the average gain function can, in principle, be obtained. © 1972, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. | |
