| dc.description.abstract | Theoretical analysis for varactor loaded active microstrip antenna with coplanar parasitic element is proposed, in which the oper ating frequency of the rectangular microstrip antenna is electronically controllable with the bias voltage of the varactor. Theoretical investigations are based on circuit model and simulation with MOM based IE3D simulator is carried out. It is found that the antenna shows wide tunability of 373 MHz (23.5%) and 357 MHz (24.45%) for without and with coplanar parasitic elements, respectively. Antenna shows 5% instantaneous bandwidth. Theoretical and simulation results show a relatively good agreement with reported results. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. | |
