Abstract

The propagation of a hydromagnetic shock wave in steady flow of an ideal dissociating gas is discussed. The variations of flow and field parameters along the direction of propagation of the shock are determined. It is shown that the effects of dissociation on the generation of vorticity and current density vanish, if the magnetic field is applied in the direction of propagation of the shock. © 1975 with the authors.
