Capacitor voltage balancing in modular multilevel inverters

Abstract

This paper presents implementation of an universal modulation scheme on an proposed modular multilevel inverter for achieving charge balancing of the capacitors. Modulation is done by using sinusoidal pulse width modulation. Simulations are provided to prove the conclusion of the scheme. © 2014 IEEE.
