| dc.description.abstract | Cast aluminium alloy LM13 and LM13-5 weight % mica particulate composite were investigated for their resistance to general corrosion, erosion-corrosion and corrosive wear in 3.5% NaCl solution. Weight loss measurements, electrochemical polarization and scanning electron microscopy were employed in this study. The composite experienced a general corrosion rate twice as large as the matrix alloy and its damage due to erosion-corrosion and corrosive wear were always larger than those for the LM13 alloy. © 1988. | |
