| dc.description.abstract | A particle aspect analysis of an electrostatic drift wave in a low-β plasma in the presence of an inhomogeneous magnetic field has been carried out. The model introduces ▽B drift in the orbit of charged particles in the electrostatic approximation, taking the resonant effects of the magnetic field gradient drift for the electrons into account. The electromagnetic effects introduced by ▽B drift have been neglected. The dispersion relation and the growth rate of the wave have been evaluated for an anistropic warm plasma. The result have been obtained for space plasma parameters. | |
