Performance Improvement of Double Side-cavity Gridless Reltron by Dual Extraction Sections

dc.description.abstractDouble side-cavity reltron is a recent advancement of the conventional reltron. Simulation-based studies have reported higher power capabilities and longer pulse duration in this kind of reltron. Here we have obtained the performance table of an S-band double side-cavity reltron with dual extraction cavity in terms of output power and efficiency. A conventional reltron is first modeled in CST microwave studio (MWS) to validate the experimentally reported results using Particle in cell (PIC) solver. Then the structure is modified to the double side-cavity type for obtaining the performance chart. The use of the dual extraction section results in a peak efficiency of 38%. © 2020 Indian Radio Science Society.
