| dc.description.abstract | A coupled inductor boost converter with the enhanced equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the filter capacitor for DC microgrid applications is presented in this paper. The converter uses only four state variables and shows a fourth order minimum phase behavior, i.e., right half plane (RHP) zero gets completely eliminated. The display of minimum phase behavior of the proposed converter makes it linear and thereby enabling a simpler control design. A complete closed loop operation of the DC microgrid using proposed converter with the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using photovoltaic (PV) has been carried out to verify the applicability of the converter in DC microgrid. The steady state and dynamic modeling of the proposed converter is done to exhibit the advantages of the proposed converter. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the behavior of the proposed converter and its operation in the DC microgrid. © 2015 IEEE. | |
