Effect of energy spectra on synchrotron radiation from the magnetosphere

Abstract

The effect of the power spectrum of energetic electrons on the synchrotron radiation has been studied. We have calculated the synchrotron power for four different energy spectra of radiating electrons. The radiated synchrotron power is found to change with the energy spectrum of the radiating electrons. The calculated synchrotron power is compared with available experimental results. It is concluded that the measured synchrotron power is capable of giving the nature of the energy spectra of radiating electrons. © 1971.
