| dc.description.abstract | Polymeric micelles have acquired quite an interest as an innovative drug delivery system for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, as they endeavour numerous benefits over the conventional drug delivery system, which include enhanced biocompatibility and biodegradability, increased targeting and accumulation of the chemotherapeutics to the cancer site, prolonged circulation time, improved retention of the drug-loaded polymeric micelle within the tumor with reduced off-site effects. The present review offers state of the art in polymeric micelle as a nano-drug delivery system for chemotherapeutics and their efficiency in cancer management. The review article also highlights different types of copolymers employed for the preparation of polymeric micelles along with their physicochemical attributes, types of polymeric micelles, method of preparation, characterization, and their application in the field of cancer diagnostics. © 2022 Elsevier B.V. | |
