This paper proposes a multifunction multioutput on-board power processor (MMPP) for electric vehicles (EVs). The proposed on-board power processor can charge the battery with any available source (AC or DC) at charging port or through any other available EV during vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging operation. In V2V charging operation, two EVs can quickly exchange the required amount of energy with each other. Further, while AC charging, the unity power factor is maintained at the source terminal. In all the charging method the constant-current and constant-voltage (CC-CV) is maintained at the battery terminal. In the proposed MMPP, the requirement of an additional speed-control converter and auxiliary battery for cabin power demand is eliminated by using a HIGH-PWM-LOW-ON switching scheme and multioutput operation of the proposed system respectively. The effectiveness of the proposed MMPP is experimentally validated with 320 W prototype for charging operation and with 550 W prototype for motoring operation. © 2023 IEEE.
