| dc.description.abstract | The use of immobilized fungal cells has been observed to control effectively the rheology of mycelial broths. Siran carriers, a commercially available catalyst support, was used successfully in the batch and continuous production of Cephalosporin-C by mycelial cells of Cephalosporium acremonium. Results of experiments performed on Siran and Silk carriers are discussed in terms of the potential for using Siran in industrial bioreactor systems. | |
