| dc.description.abstract | Corrosion inhibiting properties of triphenyltin- and dibutyltin thiobiurets for the system mild steel- dimethylsulfoxide containing HCl have been studied at 298K using electrochemical polarisation technique. Among thiobiurets maximum inhibition efficiency was shown by 1-naphthyl-5-phenyl-2-thiobiuret followed by 1-(4-ethoxyphenyi)-5-phenyl-2-thiobiuret and then 1,5-diphenyl-2-thiobiuret. Organotin complexes, in general, exhibited better inhibition efficiency than the corresponding thiobiurets. Triphenyltin thiobiurets are proved to be better corrosion inhibitors as compared to their dibutyltin analogues. | |
