O is known as one of the inorganic hole transport materials which has helped in increasing the efficiency of perovskite solar cells. There are several reports on the different synthesis techniques employed to study the photoconduction. In the present work, NiO has been synthesized by using the conventional solid-state reaction route. X-ray diffractogram affirms that synthesized NiO exhibits cubic structure which was further confirmed by Rietveld Refinement. This structure has also been confirmed by Raman spectroscopy. The connected grain formation is observed in FESEM micrographs. Further, elemental and thermogravimetric analysis predicts the formation of NiOx compound. I-V plot confirms the photoconductive behaviour of NiO and a very small area of hysteresis also has been observed in AM 1.5G Sunlight. © 2022
