This paper proposes a dual switch based high gain DC DC converter which imbibes the features of low conduction loss, low voltage stress across diode and switches along with high step up conversion ratio. Converters until now discussed in literatures have dealt with providing high gain but on the flip side suffer with demerits of increased switches count, higher conduction losses and high switching stresses which limits their use in renewable applications. The steady state analysis of the converter is performed and passive elements design criteria is taken up. Furthermore, experimental studies are carried out considering a 200 W prototype and efficiency of 93.33% is achieved. © 2018 IEEE.
