Abstract

This paper presents a novel hybrid maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique that combines conventional and artificial intelligence (CAI) algorithms. Autonomous photovoltaic (PV) energy generation directly relies on solar systems in a particular manner because PV electricity generation systems have low power conversion efficiency, therefore PV has a significant aspect of reliable operation of a system for extraction of maximal power. Obtaining maximum amount of possible energy from a PV panel is essential to increase solar system's produced power. MPPT strategy is required due to nonlinear behaviour of the voltage-current characteristic of PV arrays with a distinct power point. This hybrid MPPT algorithm has been introduced for different irradiance and temperature circumstances, which is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink by developing a model of a PV system and results have been verified beyond varying weather conditions to substantiate the efficacy of a novel hybrid MPPT algorithm at the maximum power point (MPP) of the PV panel. © 2023 IEEE.
