| dc.description.abstract | Creep rates of rock, under compressive and tensile loading, differ significantly. This fact has been incorporated in the analysis of creep bending of a rock beam, under constant loading. The rock material has been represented as Burger's model. Results have been expressed in terms of non-dimensional material parameters, whose influence has been studied over a wide range of values. The influence of some of these double elastic and viscous parameters has been found to be very significant. The movement of the neutral axis indicated in the analysis has been qualitatively substantiated on an actual rock beam. © 1987 Elsevier Science Publishers B.V. | |
