| dc.description.abstract | Wind energy conversion system (WECS) is going through a lot of research work owing to its many advantages. However, validating the performance of WECS needs an experimental setup which is sometimes not feasible in laboratory environment. In this paper a Wind Turbine Emulator (WTE) has been developed using a separately excited DC-motor which is normally available in any electrical drive laboratory. The performance of the proposed WTE has been studied for feeding a variable load at constant wind-speed and constant load at variable wind-speed. The simulated and experimental results of WTE show similar torque-speed characteristic as in a real wind turbine. © 2021 IEEE. | |
