Various applications of nanotechnology in the healthcare system have demonstrated their potential to transform medical diagnosis, immunization, therapy and even health care items. In the same way, microbial-based nanodevices are a rapidly evolving technology for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic tools and devices in the medical field. Biosensors have shown great promise in medical diagnostics and a variety of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, food, drinks, the environment, agriculture and a variety of other biotechnological fields. Biosensors have gotten a lot of attention in medicine and nanotechnology in the recent years. Nanodevice based on nanowires offers very diverse platforms for highly sensitive electrochemical detection of biochemical compounds. The novel nanocantilever approach is being used to investigate cancer-related chemicals that may be present in extremely low amounts. This chapter presents an overview of microbial-based nanostructures in health systems as well as some insight into their application. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston.
