A Novel Compact Dual Output Multi-Level Inverter

| dc.description.abstract | A novel nine-level dual-output multilevel inverter (MLI) topology based on the switched capacitor is developed in this work. A dual-output multi-level inverter can supply two independent loads simultaneously. The topology significantly reduces the switch count compared to conventional nine-level converters supplying two loads. Intermediate floating capacitors are used to obtain higher voltage levels and are balanced to avoid any voltage deviation. A level-shifted in-phase disposition pulse width modulation (PWM) technique is implemented. The PWM technique utilizes the redundant switching states of the converter to balance the DC-link capacitor voltage. Switch count, voltage stress, current stress, and passive components of the proposed topology are compared with the already existing nine-level converter topologies. Voltage and current stress across the semiconductor devices are examined analytically. MATLAB\Simulink environment is used for the simulation results. © 2024 IEEE. | |
