Abstract
The dielectric and electrical behaviours of Y2Ti2O7 pyrochlore have been discussed in the present investigation. The synthesis of Y2Ti2O7 pyrochlore was carried out via solid-state reaction technique. The dielectric and electrical behaviour were investigated by using impedance and conductivity spectroscopic techniques. Temperature-dependent conduction mechanism is reported for this pyrochlore. There is a sharp enhancement in real part of permittivity (ϵ′ ) and tangent loss (D) values at low frequencies and high temperature regards to space charge polarisation. The influence of grain response on the conduction mechanism at varying temperatures is also discussed in detail. Electrical transport behaviour of pyrochlore ceramic material depends on its structure and microstructural control. Additionally, its electrical conductivity was measured in order to examine the conduction behaviour inside the system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.
