| dc.description.abstract | Kwashiorkor is a malnutrition-based disease that occurs in children of developing countries. Two hypotheses are believed to be involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. They are dysadaptation of protein metabolism and free radical based damage of cellular membranes. An advanced drug delivery system can be helpful in the targeting of these mechanisms such as targeting free radicals and reactive oxygen species for the treatment of kwashiorkor. © 2022 Elsevier Inc.
