Rapid green synthesis of noble Bimetallic nanoparticles

dc.description.abstractBurn afflicted patients suffer severe infections caused by multidrug-resistant nosocomial pathogens. Bimetallic Nanoparticles offer great opportunity in healing infections through their antimicrobial properties. In the present work, we have tried to explore the benefits of biologically fabricated Bimetallic (Gold-Silver) Nanoparticles. Trichoderma reesei (NCIM 992) was used for bioreduction of metal salts to Bimetallic Nanoparticles. The bioreduction of metal salts was rapid and the synthesized Nanoparticles were in nano range and incorporated benefits of both the metals. The Bimetallic Nanoparticles were then characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) equipped with an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometer (EDS) and X-Ray Diffraction. The calculated average particle sizes of the Bimetallic (Gold-Silver) Nanoparticles were found to be 25-40 nm. Rapid bioreduction could be conducted through microbial biomass to develop Bimetallic Nanoparticles. © 2019 Author(s).
