| dc.description.abstract | In terms of population, our country, India comes at second place in world and it is expected that at the year 2025, it will become ranked one [1]. In spite of a huge population (approximately 135 crores [2]), it isstill a developing country, in terns having a lot of discrepancies in many essential services. Medical facilities are one of them. In India, the ratio of doctors to population is approximately 1:11082 (allopathy) [3], which is insufficient according to the parameters made by World Health Organization (WHO). Apart from this we are lagging in terms of medical infrastructures. Also due to communication gap, the services have been interrupted regularly. As per a case, any hospital possesses a limited number of Operation Theater (OT) tables, which in turn makes a shortage of OT tables. Some time it happens that the OT table is not available even if the doctors are available in a hospital. And sometimes it also happens that the OT tables are available but in a different medical premises. Due to lack of information, there is a high chance of death. To address this particular problem, a structured system needs to be developed that helps to reduce the death rate by providing the proper information at real time. This paper has proposed a conceptual solution of developing a device with a mobile application or web page, which will identify an unoccupied OT table in nearby hospitals and able to make a slot booking remotely. This IoT based device is also provide the information about the distance and time which will consume to access that OT table from the user (doctor) location. © 2018 IEEE. | |
