Abstract

This work introduces an optimization algorithm based on Bohr's atomic model. Microcosm of physics and chemistry such as excitation and de-excitation of electrons in atom and bond formation phenomenon are the key mechanism of this algorithm. Performance of proposed algorithm is analyzed with six standard benchmark functions. Results are compared with three competitor algorithms. Results indicate competency of the proposed algorithm in generating good quality solutions with high convergence rate. Proposed algorithm is also applied to real life applications and examined comparative performance with respect to existing implementation of optimization techniques. © 2016 -IOS Press and the authors.
