Nanocarriers-mediated therapeutics as a promising approach for treatment and diagnosis of lung cancer
Abstract
Lung cancer is one of the most chronic forms of cancer that causes cancer-related mortality globally. The current treatment therapy includes chemotherapy, radiation/bio therapy, and surgery that aim to prevent and limit the cancerous cells, however, these techniques lack target specificity and harm healthy cells. Nanocarrier based therapeutics offer site-specific delivery of anticancer drugs, which also helps in reduction of toxicity associated with the therapy. In this review, an attempt has been made to highlight various such approaches being studied by the researchers for the treatment and diagnosis of lung cancer. © 2021 Elsevier B.V.
