The action of some organic compounds on the corrosion of window glass in sodium chloride solution
Abstract
Studies the inhibiting action of some organic compounds on the corrosion of a glass surface in sodium chloride solution by the immersion test method. The window glass specimens were immersed in sodium chloride test solution in the presence of inhibitor compounds for different duration at laboratory temperature (30 ± 5°C). Studies by optical microscopy the morphological changes due to corrosion on the surface of window glass in the presence and absence of inhibitor compounds. Transmittance values have also been recorded for glass specimens corroded in the presence and absence of inhibitor compounds. Observes that 4-picoline provides satisfactory protection to the window glass surface.
