Abstract

This section would introduce the concept of metasurfaces (MS), which are artificially engineered surfaces with subwavelength structures that manipulate electromagnetic (EM) waves in unconventional ways. MS take part in a major role due to the incorporation of cutting-edge methodologies, concepts, information, and design styles for a variety of microwave devices [1-5]. They are composed of a periodic group of conductive elements, which include metal rings, rods or various geometric shapes forming an EM medium at the same time, and their resonance effect is determined by the geometry of unit cells [6-14]. The MS elements are designed to achieve phase control across a wide frequency band, enabling beamforming and steering capabilities [15-25]. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Abhishek Kumar Awasthi, Abhinav Sharma, Kushmanda Saurav; individual chapters, the contributors.
