| dc.description.abstract | A transition metal-free cascade synthesis of amides from alcohols was developed. Various alcohols reacted with N-hydroxyimides by tert-butyl nitrite to generate N-hydroxyimide esters. The resulting active esters were subsequently reacted with amines to generate amides in one pot. Further, we have illustrated the application of the developed protocol in synthesizing anti-Alzheimer compounds. A detailed mechanistic exploration was also carried out. © 2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH. | |
