Rutile phase of TiO2 nanoparticles were readily prepared and identified as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of a library of quinoxaline derivatives by condensation reaction of isatin derivatives with o-phenylenediamine under solvent-free conditions. The presented method is mild, environmentally friendly, inexpensive and highly effective to give the products in good to excellent yields. The recyclability of the catalyst is another emphasis of proposed methodology. © 2014 The Authors
