Abstract

This paper reports the fabrication a wide-band photodetector (UV-A-Vis) utilizing Ag/SnS2 nanosheets/glass photodetector structure. SnS2 nanosheets having broad spectrum absorption are synthesized through low cost and simple hydrothermal technique. In the device structure, the synthesized SnS2 works as a high absorption material due to their 2D geometry; while the glass substrate is used as filter materials to pass desirable range of wavelengths. The reported structure shows the strong optical property while illuminated with UV and visible lights. The reported responsivity of the device under UV-A (395 nm) and visible (640 nm) light illuminations were found to be 0.218 and 22.97 (mA/W), respectively. The detectivity of the device was also measured for these illuminations wavelengths and were found to be ∼ 3.53× 108 and ∼ 3.72× 1010 (Jones), respectively. The reported optical parameters of the fabricated structure are superior to many previously reported detectors having complex detection structure. © 2020 IEEE.
