Congestion in India has become a very serious issue as it results into an increasing rate of accidents, pollution etc. Shopping complexes and several other points, where a noticeable gathering takes place, always face such traffic problems and as a result pedestrians get to suffer mainly. So an alternative option for the people is very much necessary. In this paper the focus is given on a remedy to the above problem by making a case study-Connaught Place New Delhi followed by the design and analysis of the proposed solution for the pedestrians. A moving platform propelled by Linear Induction Motor segments is suggested as a mean of pedestrianisation, which will move the people from one point to another. The aim of the paper is to design and analyze the people mover system and also to justify the commercially viability of the system. © 2014 IEEE.
