Abstract

This paper proposes an advanced sliding mode-based control strategy for stable voltage and frequency control of inverter-based distributed energy resources. The proposed controller monitors and stabilizes the system voltage and frequency and protects the DER from external faults. Especially, the system stability is proven using the Lyapunov Function. The time-domain simulation results obtained using PSCAD/EMTDC for different load configurations authenticate the method's performance. Further, the results are compared with that of a PI-based feed-forward compensation control strategy, which further validates the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. © 2021 IEEE.
